Welcome to K-JoStudio -- Art by Kathy Jo Braceland |

Kathy has been selling her art to individuals and companies throughout the world for a few years now. Although she has many styles, her most acclaimed works are her surrealistic skeleton drawings, for which she has won awards and also intrigued many morbidly curious reporters. Some people call her imaginative, creative and even hilarious in regards to her skeletal images. Others just think she's dark and gruesome. Who knows but she and people that know her best?

The "Kiss of Death" is Kathy's
first in an inspirational series. Marjorie
Kaye, Art Director of Caladan
Gallery says: "Kathy Braceland has combined imagery from her past
artistic explorations into this piece. She has transformed humor into irony,
and innocence into symbolism and intrigue. The Adam and Eve depiction is not
lost on this viewer, yet one can extract so much more than one myth from the
piece. It seems to indicate references to many cultures. The imagery
reflects caution in the face of perfection, rather than the ultimate folly
and downfall. It is as if all of life's realities are realized at once by
these figures, wisdom as well as fear. The artist has provided a background
for endless empuzzlement."
Other comments: "...it's scary but strangely erotic...," "...that's my ex-wife and I...," "...it could be Adam and Eve...it could be a relationship gone bad...it could be all things...it could be...." And yes...it COULD BE....
These next pieces were drawn with the same inspiration as the above in the sequence shown.
